Farmtrac 555 injection pump (Bosch) vs Ford (cav) for replacement

Has anyone ever tried replacing the injections pump on a 555 with an older CAV pump from a ford? Any thoughts? I know other parts such as the injector lines and feed lines would need replacing as well. I致e already swapped out my fuel filter housing for the older ford style because those filters were more readily available to me than replacement WIX or other comparable one for the original ones. I know a 3910 and a 3430 both had a 3.1l 192ci engine. That would seem to be a decent starting place for this project.

That痴 a good question I will Check with my mechanic that was a Ford dealer mechanic for 30 + years he痴 worked on both of my 555痴

It would indeed be nice to know. Even if one had to go as far as replacing injectors you could still save over $500 compared to the price of the Bosch pump.

My Tractor man says probably not but he痴 not 100% sure of it. The Bosch system works really well just really loud

Works well until it fails anyway. I suppose it would come down to engine timing. Maybe an examination of internal components will shed some light on this.
