Farmtrac 675DTC/Kubota B7800/BCS 2Wheel with ACME 6.5hp
Today I was lubing the grease points on the front axle of my 675 and noticed a s/n plate that had been painted over on the front axle. I scraped the paint off with my fingernail and the plate read: Carraro, made in Italy, lube capacity x.xx, oil spec xxx.xxx, part number xxxxx.xx rev and axle type:SELF LOCKING. Self locking? Nothing in the Farmtrac brochure or owners manual about this! I then proceded to the nearest dirt pile and noticed when I pushed the dirt with the loader to the point of wheelspin one of the front wheels would not spin about 20 degrees and then both wheels would "lock in" and spin. When I got home I went on the Carraro website and it has a drawing of the Farmtrac Axle showing the self locking differential!

Why in the world would Farmtrac not have this in thier marketing brochure? Seems like a great selling point on the 4wd's. Someone familiar with Farmtrac or Carraro care to chine in???

The 665 and 675 both have Carraro rear ends and transmissions also.

I looked at my 555DTC front axle and according to it I don't have the limited slip. Sounds like you may have gotten a chocolate chip cookie with all the chocolate chips. Have a nice day.

What did the s/n tag say at the AXLE TYPE: space?

MY 555DTC says "STANDARD" on the front axle in the axle type box.

Carraro would be a selling point only if they could make sure that they would supply ALL their tractors with carraro.
My 604T (ArmaTrac) has a carraro front axle but ArmaTrac has an agreement with carraro on the matter.

The scenario that came to my mind is the following;
these guys bought a few carraro axles to be used on the tractors they would send to trade shows or tests. And you might have ended up with one of these.
Logically speaking, the chineese producers don't have enough margin to use carraro or ZF components without loosing money.

Still the carraro axle might not be a carraro but could be;
1) a copy
2) a defective carraro purchased by the chineese at half the price.

Farmtrac is (if it hasn't change) a part owner of cararro india so they use thier axles, front and rear, on the 600 series Farmtrac tractors, the 4wd 500 series may also be cararro, but not self locking. Famrtrac is not chinese. although Lovol/Foton is Chinese and they use Cararro front axles on thier larger chassis

My 675 is an Indian tractor. The plate on the axel says "MADE IN ITALY". I don't think it is a copy or a defective unit purchased by the Chinese that was shipped to the Farmtrac Factory in India.

need to correct my earlier post. Foton/Lovol use Dana axles not Carerro. sorry for the misinformation. Farmtrac does use Carerro axles. thanks
