Here are some pics of the Fasse valve kit to run my ATI bucket grapple I just put on. I have to say, the Fasse kit was first-class. It went together smoother than a baby's behind. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Hardest part was finding a hot lead and wiring it in. The ATI grapple is another must have. I've been able to move several LARGE brush piles in a matter of just a couple of hours!!! Both are worth every penny.

I've been impressed as he!! with the Fasse and ATI, and more so with the 4210. Just 12hrs of seat time, but it has done everything I've asked and more. I'm happy with it.

Now if my Curtis cab would just show up. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Here's a couple of pics of the valve kit mounted up.

Here she is all decked out and ready to move brush piles.

The forks I made out of 2"x4"x3/16"x3' steel. I welded a piece of 2" square tubing in the end to make a point, and bolted them to the bucket with 3/8" bolts. Total cost of the forks, less than $60.

Another shot of the mounted valve kit after the bucket has been hooked back up.

Here's a shot from the pilot's seat. Kids loved the new joy stick, said I was trying to make it look like a fighter jet.

Here she is working, the forks and grapple really make quick work of any brush pile!

Very nice install and it is amazing what you can get done with these machines. Wife told me yesterday, Wow you did a lot today. Sprayed 3 acres with Earthright, starter fertilizer via the spreader, then used the rented Frontier 3 pt, PTO driven seeder to plant the turf fescue. Not a bad afternoon's work.

I'm really interested in both the ATI grapple and the Fasse valve kit. I have a bunch of trees to cut and clean up.

Where can I source the valve kit ? Did you look at any other
grapple kits ?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike, I had been looking at grapples for a while, and the ATI came very well recommended here on this board. If you do a search for "grapple" you'll get plenty of reading (make sure you change the time for ALL POSTS). The ATI is very heavy and well make, I'm very pleased with it.

Depending on how much you need to move, and how often you will use it, a grapple bucket may be your ticket. These are awsome as well, but I felt my 4210 was a little small side for one of these.

The 2 leading valve kits seem to be Fasse and WR LONG. Both seem to be first class. I went with the Fasse as that was the one I could get thru my JD Dealer. A couple of folks here have built their own from parts and pieces ordered, if you want to go that route.

This is really neat, and your pics sure tell a great story.

I am sure I could really use this setup!

But I have a question.

What is the advantage of using the diverter to a second valve over using the existing 3rd SCV that is already on the tractor? With the Fasse setup, am I seeing it right that when you are operating the grapple, you are doing it at the expense of one of your loader functions? Is that an issue at all?

Woud there be any way to operate the 3rd scv from the same joystick, say electrically? Does it matter?

I'm sure I'm going to show my ignorance here (wont be the first time, and certainly not the last), but I dont believe I have a 3rd SCV on mine. I believe it's an option though, as a lever adjacent to the rockshaft lift lever. If you do have a 3rd SCV, then you could obviously could use that.

The Fasse joystick has a momentary button as well as a switch to control/switch between the grapple and the bucket tilt. This seup really works sweet when you get used to it. I have it set up so that after I push the forks/bucket under what I want to load, when I push the button and move the SCV lever in tilt the bucket, it closes the grapple. When I release the button residual pressure (or my slo reflexes) cause the bucket to tilt immediately afterwards. Kinda hard to explain, but I hope you get the point. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That explains a lot.

The third scv option is kinda there already. This is pushing the limits of my knowledge, but the DSCV block has the outlets. When you order Deere's 3rd scv, you are getting the control lever and the plumbing to and the 3rd outlets. But then, you'd have another lever, and would have to take your hand from the joystick to it. So while it would always be 'live' you'd need another hand to work it. Now, if it were a left pedal, but then you'd lose a brake...

Looks like the 'perfect' setup would be electically actuated 3rd acv with the buttons on the stick like your diverter setup.

But short of that, the fasse setup is almost perfect. And you already have it and it wiorks so it's 99 44/100% PERFECT.

Thanks again, I think it is almost clear in my feeble brain!
