does anybody know how to make the 620i go faster? there must be a restictor somewhere? anybody? i love this machine but it needs a little extra sometimes. i use it a lot on the road and you can feel the pedal has a lot more to go but something limits it. thanks in advance.

You can adjust the bolt under the gas pedal to get a little more speed.
The cv trans is the biggest limiting factor I believe. The belt rides all the way to the top of the sheave at full throttle. More throttle wouldn't help it go any higher (faster).

skip thanks for your reply. however, adjusting the bolt under the gas pedal won't solve the problem. once the machine has reached top speed it won't go any faster and there is still 25% left on the gas pedal. you can push it and it doesn nothing until you get below the max speed.

i think there was another member on there who bought a 620 and had the dealer install a different chip or something and it ran in the 30's. but then he later traded it in for a deisel unit i think!!!!

The xuv has a speed sensor that regulates it a 30 mph. You are going to have to fool the sensor into thinking it hasn't got to 30 mph so you can get the full throttle setting out of the engine. That is what I would guess.

If the belt is already at the top of the sheave when running at full throttle. Wouldn't tricking the sensor only help the belt get to the top of the sheave faster?
Takeoff would be better but top-end would remain the same unless you can somehow make the belt ride higher on the sheave.
Mine is at the very top when the throttle is floored.. The engine defnately has more power but the cv trans is still the main limiting factor.

you can just get a wider belt and still mess with the adjustment on the sensor. plus try swapping out spings on the sheave . take the stock ones to a autoparts store see what they have you would be surprised at what you can find.i have been thinkin of something to raise the speed on the hpx and xuv and the rhino's it has to do with the sheavs but i won't mention it because if it works it's worth some money.but from what i have been thinkin if i'm right it should give you bottom end and top end too.

The electronic fuel injection will set the throttle to maintain the 30 mph with the gas pedal floored. It compensates for belt wear by increasing throttle to maintain the 30 mph top speed. So by turnning the engine at more rpm you will increase your speed. Beings that the speed sensor tells the computer how fast it's going by making it think that the engine is going slower than it it is then you can raise the rpms so that it still thinks it's going at 30 mph. I think at 30 mph with a new belt the engine turns about 3600 rpm. As the belt wears it may be at 38-3900 rpm to keep that 30 mph mark. The only othere alternative ir to change the driven clutch to a larger radius. You will run into space problems because of the belt shield. I agrre that the cv is limiting because the clutches already travel as far as they can possible go. This is why rpm has to be increased. As to how much you can increase rpm I don't know. The engines were designed for durability not for maximum output.
