Mainly this pertains to "hydraulic options" such as the Power Beyond and 3rd Function Lines for the 300CX in my case...my 3520 is still freshly new and i've added options I wanted/needed already... Rear SCV went on last weekend, Rear wiper is in the near future, etc.. but for the moment and the foreseeable future, I have no need for the Power Beyond.....would I like a Backhoe? Do I want a Grapple Bucket? Sure thing...its just not in the cards right now. (74" Pronovost Snow Blower is my next major purchase).
I've read here that some option kits on the previous models are NLA and people are having to part them together, or track em down at the ends of the earth... Would you reccomend just getting the kits and even if I dont install it right away...no loss as I can put it on anytime I wanted to... I've been contemplating the Automotive Cruise buttons too...thats mostly a trinket to fill in the blank "Filler Plates" on the console :D

Spudland_Dave; I had ordered the Automotive cruise option with the tractor, but somehow it did not get put on the tractor, so my dealer sent the parts to me and I plan to install when the unit comes back. The parts are the 4 switches (auto crusie 2, motion match and load match) and the short harness. Then you have to tell the tractor's on-board computer that the feature option is there. So the OBCPU needs to be programmed. I am really looking forward to that:cool:LOL!

Spudland_Dave;yYou installed the Rear SCV? Was it cheaper to get the options later than buy them on the tractor? I got the deluxe cab and that came with it (rear wiper, rear lights, rear SCV, blue sky, fair weather - and a weak 3PT hydraulic valve causing the unit to be in for warranty service 20 minutes into use!). But I also got the mid PTO too! Glad I did as I just got as used/near new MMM and without that decision to get the MID-PTO, I would have been out of some asdditional $$$!

If you have the money then I would purchase the parts. If you don't use them, you should be able to sell them in the future. I had ordered power beyond for my tractor, but at the last minute I changed and got the diverter option. JC

Spudland D...don't hesitate to install the cruise control. I received my 3320 a few weeks ago and believe it or not I actually forgot it had it. I tried it out today...a fantastic difference. Set it, sit back and ride...holds the mph to the dime.

Yeah I did the install myself. Mine has the standard cab...(Seriously I dont know why they call it standard cab...the cab is the same, you just get more factory options on the deluxe  ) but anywho.... I was able to get more into the tractor package by doing the installs myself and them supplying the kits with the tractor, thats the story on the rear SCV...

CT Yankee...because mines a cab model, it already has factory cruise...it just doenst have all the little option buttons like Resume, and the Motion Match "Quick Set" button....

Hi Guys,

Great site. Thanks for all the insight so far. I'm looking at a 2005 JD 4720 that's in great shape. My only concern with it is that it doesn't have some of the features I want - ie. cruise/motionmatch/speedmatch, diverter switch, top & tilt, mid PTO, etc.

Do any of you know of any options that CAN'T be added on later??

Also, it has a 400x on it. Do any of you think that there's a huge difference between the 400x and 400cx loader?? The heaviest load I'd lift would likely be 1200-1400lb round bales on a spike. I don't care about the self-levelling, but the lift capacity is important.

Thanks for your help.

-Jeremy.
