I went to look at the Mahindras and the MF's. I took the Mahindra 3215 HST for a ride around the lot and was not impressed with it. The dealer also has the MF's but did not have a 1528 HST in stock. I am interested in any info about this tractor since it is line with the size I have been looking at. I am real interested in the Kubota B3030 and the L2800/3400 tractors. The B3030 is a little more than I want to spend at this time. The MF comes in about $2000 less, both with the FEL in the price. Any info will help since I have to wait till they get one in stock to look at and take for a ride.

I have a 1428 hydro that I have beaten like a rented mule. The few complaints that I have with it all seem to be addressed in the 1528. I have a 1500 series FEL which I thought was a big improvement from the 1400 series. No buyers remorse here on either. It swings a five foot Woods rotary mower with no problem through thick cover. Easy on the diesel too. Last time I mowed 10 acres of thick cover (up to 1" diameter) and used five gallons which I thought was very reasonable. Hope that helps.

northwood, NH is a bit of a drive from Pa. Plus I could not even imagine how I would get it back here.

There is not a lot of feedback or info to be found about these tractors. Is this not a big seller?

The 1528 is a big seller for us. We go through over 100 per year. (both hydro & gear) The 1528 gear has been dropped from the MF line, but we have a few left in stock. The 1529 is the new replacment for the 1528 gear.

Have a 1428v Hydro w/ a 1500 series loader (cant remember the model #, but I think its a 1520 ), have a little over a 110 hrs on it, no probs yet (knocks on wood). The only complaint I have is the slow reverse speeds, doesnt matter much unless you are doing loader work where you cant easily turn around and MUST back up long distances. Again, other than that one thing, love the little tractor, easy to drive and operate.

I noticed the slow reverse gear on the Mahindra to. I asked the salesmen why it is so slow in reverse and he said it was because I was in low gear. I was actually in Medium at that time. I did not like that at all. I am glad you posted that DuaneW.

The other tractors that I tested did not have this slow reverse gear. Is there a reason for them to use this? Or is this just supposed to be a safety thing?

Take a look at the 1529, it has the 8X8 syncro shuttle. 8 reverse speeds should keep you happy, it's great when using the loader.
