Hi I have small tractor with a loader. I want to add 2 remotes. Adding a power beyond port to the loader valve is not an option so I was wondering if I could get a valve with power beyond and use it to feed the loader valve. Thanks. Gerry

Where is the pressure line from the hydraulic pump going to now? To the the loader valve first? I presume your loader valve then returns to sump or even to power your 3pt valve, right?
In that case you can do what you said.
However, if there is another valve down the line, it is always better to feed it with power beyond.

Hi Rob The pressure line goes directly from the pump to the 3pt housing to feed the 3pt valve. The loader is fed by a manifold on the 3pt housing just above were the pressure line goes in. There are 2 lines going from this manifold to the loader valve plus a 3rd one going from the loader valve to sump.
Okay now I am wondering why there are 3 lines. Is it possible that the manifold re-directs the flow to feed the loader valve first and the line returning to the manifold from the loader valve then powers the 3pt? I guess it would be best if I post some photos. Been having some computer issues but I will try to get some posted in the next couple days. Gerry

Gerry,
If you have 7 hoses total attached to the loader valve, you already have power beyond.

I agree with Jerry and Rob: you already have power beyond in the loader valve because the three point hitch is downstream of the loader. The line from the loader valve back to the manifold (not the line back to the sump) is the power beyond line carrying high pressure fluid from the loader valve to the three point hitch.

You can insert your remote in either the "pump" line from the manifold to the loader valve (in which case your remote will be ahead of both the loader and tph) or in the power beyond line from the loader valve back to the manifold (in which case your remote will be downstream of the loader valve and upstream of the tph, which is probably the most common arrangement).

In either case, the remote valve should have power beyond.
If the remote valve is to be downstream of the loader valve, the power beyond line from the loader valve should connect to the "in" or "pump" port on the remote valve in order to supply fluid under pressure to the remote, the "out" port on the remote should connect to the sump (just tee into any sump line), and the power beyond port on the remote should connect to the manifold port that received fluid back from the loader valve.

Good luck. Send us pictures.

Guys Thanks for the replies. I have to admit I was getting a bit ahead of myself when I asked about the remote valve setup. I bought this tractor 4 weeks ago, got a deal on it but it has hydraulic issues. After giving it a badly needed hydraulic oil and filter change I still have a non working 3pt and loader. The pump is good( I found this out the hard hay when I decided to loosen the line going from the pump to the 3pt housing). Anyway, based on what you guys are telling me I now think the loader valve is whats causing the problem. I had disconnected it from the manifold to see if the 3pt would work with it removed but I plugged the ends on the manifold when I now think I should have run a line from the pressure side to the return side so the 3pt would continue to be fed. Will give that a try and post the results. Gerry

Hi I have put a line as I said in the previous post on the manifold. The 3pt is still not working. It will raise slowly if I run the tractor at full throttle but even then only sometimes. I guess its time to pull the cover off and have a look at the valve. Is this something I can tackle-I'm talking about a basic pull it apart to see if its a broken/stuck O-ring etc before I call in an expert. Already had the cover off the piston- there is very little flow from the outlet that feeds the 3pt piston even at high rpm. Also checked the piston O-ring, it is okay. Also here are some pics of my valve and the manifold on the 3pt housing:

Should have mentioned: the 2 lines marked "N" and "T" are the ones going to the manifold, T being the one going to the side above the pressure line coming from the pump and N going to the back of the manifold. Any ideas on which one is power beyond. Thanks. Gerry

What is inside that one labeled "R"? It has a plug on it. If it has side channels as well as a channel at the bottom, it could be a power beyond port ... not sure though. If it is, you would need to get a power beyond sleeve to use it. As I see it, it looks like your valve on has 6 lines working right now, and "R" could be the 7th.
Also not sure why there is so little flow to the 3pt? I wouldn't hurt to take it apart and check the "O" rings to see if everything is in good working order. Again, not sure about this since I am not familiar with that valve, but if "R" is a power beyond port, you could feed the 3pt from that port I think.
