Sorry, late in the afternoon, have a headache...so felt like taking my mind off that and talking tractor talk :p

So, got the new tractor...and was busy last week, and when I get home at 6pm each day, it is 102 degrees.. so... yea...still have cardboard on the sides from the dealership:(

That leaves me planning tomorrow through Sunday and Daddy is gonna ride while he is not cooking!

I have to lay about 80ft of 3" pvc, nothing major there, and then add two new 8ft lights in the barn...but then, I am going to find some dirt and cover those trenches THEN.. after it cools off, I can go in the barn where I installed those two new lights.. and start learning and hanging out.. heh

I know.. rambling...but I have been really looking forward to this.
Eh, not a lot of tractor stuff to talk about, so... just looking to get a grease gun and then learn from you all what sort of tools to keep on-hand for preventative maintenance, to keep this baby running strong.

Ok.. will go work.. heh.. and ready the forums ;)

You don't list what tractor you got. Everyone loves pictures, so post when you can.

Were those new lights LEDs?

In my 3,600 sq ft barn, I hung 3 LED fixtures to replace 12 1,000 watt bulbs. For 360 watts, I have more lumens, a whiter light, and they have a 25 year warranty.

I keep a couple of different screwdrivers, a can of WD40, a hammer, 1/2" socket set, pliers, pipe wrench, several different size pins for implements, and a bunch of smaller items in my tool box on the tractor.

Oh, figured everyone saw me yakkin about the tractor the last posts ;)

I got a Branson 2400H

I know, not a big boy like you all. I have friends with Mahindra 55's, 35's, and a Massey 28. I was going to get a 37 with a cab, but I only have 2 acres and while I DO have work I want to do with a tractor....I was literally calling them to order the 37 and changed my mind when I started talking heh.

I dropped down to a 2400H, added an Auger, Trailer, Loader, Box blade... and since I decided to drop the backhoe, I dropped the brush hog as well and tacked on a Hustler Raptor 60" zero turn with a Kohler engine ;)... oh. and a sun shade for the tractor.. lol (should have added one for the mower too!)

Lights - I cut the dang ballasts out of 4 8-ft lights to change them to LED, before I noticed the dang bulbs required the ballasts.... lol. Luckily, Lowes took all 4 back and replaced them, because that was the only gripe on the Q&A of their site was lots of folks did the same thing, no notes saying to do otherwise and the company video said do it :p

So, I grabbed 16 6500k lights that each do 1600 Lumens for a total of 25,600 lumens and total wattage of 224 watts. I plan to set them up on 3 switches, 2 come on on the main switch then 1 over the parking area, 1 over the back area. The standard light wattage would have been 512 I think, and not as bright.

WD40 solves most everything!;)

Each of the 3 fixtures has 12,000 lumens with the Daylight bulbs and I love that come on instantly with NO hum and NO flickering. I put 2 fixtures on one 3 way switch and the other fixture on another 3 way switch so that they can be turned on and off form any door.

My electric bill dropped noticeably.

Nice MD!

And Thomas, I have a nice chair, but always looking for a tall-back lounging one.. for now, this old leather one will be my hangout soon.. heh

NOW that I have light, and fans, I plan to go in after it cools in the evening and add 2 more 8-ft lights and then start putting the rest of the electrical in. I only have 100 amps atm, but plan to run another 100 amps next year, so will run wiring as if I have that already. THEN.. insulation and walls go in.. and the 3-ton central a/c ;)

THEN.. the tv ... muahahaha!

Starting to look good in there.

Don't forget the toilet, no sense having to run back into the house. :cool2:
