NH 1925, Allied 195 Loader, one of the detents had came apart for the float, had the screw in kind with built in ball and spring. It scored the spool up so I bought a new Brand Hydraulic Loader Directional Control Valve LV22RFSTKAB. After installing the new and working the air out of system the boom is slow and leaks down pretty quickly. Also if you are raising the boom and try tilting the bucket, the boom will fall. I've checked everything, no leaks and good fluid level. Oh yeah, also with the bucket sitting flat on the ground, when I tilt it the boom cylinders retract instead of holding. Before I changed valves, the boom was kinda slow but I just figured it was due to leaking O-rings and a damaged spool. The bucket works just fine.
The specs on the 1925 are:
Type: open center
Pressure: 2133 psi
Pump flow: 6.1 gpm
Total flow: 9.6 gpm

The Brand Loader Valve:
Relief setting is factory preset to 2000 psi
10 gpm Nominal Capacity
Rated up to 4000 psi
Tandem center and fourth position regen on 1st spool
Fourth position spring centering Tandem center 4-way Fourth position float on 2nd spool
Installed the power beyond plug

This is set up just like my old valve. just can't figure out the problem. Here's some info from Brand:
FEATURES:
O坦ING PORTS to eliminate leakage.
FOURTH POSITION REGEN allows cylinder to rapidly extend.
POWER BEYOND CAPABILITY to fit your multi valve circuits.
PRECISION GROUND IOSSO PLATED SPOOLS that assure long life.
INDIVIDUAL DROP LOAD CHECKS prevent the load from dropping when the spool is shifted.
FOURTH POSITION FLOAT allows spool movement to a fourth position and makes all ports
common to each other (last spool only).

If anybody can help I sure would appreciate it. Been around farm tractors most of my life but not much knowledge of hydraulics.

Untitled - 1.jpgWell, no luck there, so maybe someone can tell me which port is what on my diverter manifold or really just which one should be the power beyond.

Any pictures of how you plumbed it? How does it feed the rest of the tractor? Did you use a power beyond adapter? Did the old loader valve have power beyond?

Cap2ture.JPGBasically the same valve with power beyond. When I swap ports the boom works good and the bucket gets crazy. A1 and B1 for bucket, A2 and B2 for boom. PB outlet on side and tank on top next to A2. P,PB and tank plumbed into manifold which I never touched. The valve is open Center and has the PB sleeve. When I use A1 and B1 for boom it works the boom fine. When I use A2 and B2 it just barely lifts and then bleeds off.

Just to verify, you also have a tank line?

There should be 7 hoses going to the valve. The 4 "work" ports....A1, B1, A2, B2.......that go to the lift and curl.

Then there should be a P (pressure IN) port that comes from the pump.....a PB port that goes on to the rest of the system, and a T (tank) port that tees back into the sump or another return line.

So you have 7 correct?

If this is the case, it sounds like there may be something wrong with the A1-B1 float spool in the valve.

That's what I was thinking, all 7 lines are plumbed right, checked and rechecked.

A2 and B2 (which is ONE spool / function) works on both the lift and curl

And A1 and B1 (which is the OTHER spool) dont work on either....I think that is your issue

I was looking on the Northern Tool web site at the customer reviews for BRAND fel valves.
One guy said he found out after he installed the valve that he needed a special cartridge to have the power beyond capability..
Could you be missing this cartridge and that is why things seem screwy in its operation
See his comment below with the cartridge number. Maybe you are calling this the Power Beyond plug and he is calling it a cartridge and my suggestion is completely wrong.

It was very easy to install, works better than my old valve, but I needed MSLV2-W cartridge for power beyond capability, just call NorthernTool and mention the part number above, they should have some in stock, Cost was minimal for the cartridge!

Where did you buy your FEL valve?

I have found this info on the BRAND site for a valve with the same number as the one you have except yours does not have the W at the end. The W signifies the valve left the factory as a power beyond valve. Did your supplier tell you this and give you the power beyond plug you referred to?

I am going back to basics on the BRAND web site as there has to be something simple that is not being considered.
Could you advise which joystick configuration your valve either came with or you changed it to as having this wrong could explain a lot about your problems with the FEL not operating as expected.
