Kubota L3010 HST w/ FEL
Hi folks,

Our Kubota 3010 now has about 18 hours on it (logged in a single week, working evenings only /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif) and I am getting some fluid leakage from the FEL quick disconnects. It only happens when the loader has been used for a bit, and the tractor is pretty hot. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks!

How much? My loader is off/on several times a week, and each time the QD's are taken apart, each drips a little fluid. A lot of the dripped oil gets deposited on the valve body and eventually finds its way down to the horizontal FEL mount. At first I thought mine was leaking, but then determined the real source. On the FEL mount it catches dirt and grass clippings the front tire throws back. A quick squirt with the garden hose gets a lot of the deposit off.

I saw "zero loss" QD fittings in a McMaster Carr or siimilar catalog, but I don't think I'm losing enough fluid to make it worth changing them out..........chim

Strider,

Check that all the connection point on the valve body are tight. Others have had that problem and it was just a fitting over looked during set up.

My bx fel quick disconnect was leaking, I took it apart cleaned it off and there was a small scratch on the male connector and the o-ring was not making a good seal. it only leaked under pressure. took the old one off and returned it to the dealer for a new one. said this was common if they get nicked or scratched, so look yours over and see if you notice anything and replace the connector they are fairly cheap. .

I have a new 3010 also, was wondering if you have a box scraper and if so, is it heavy duty and what size is it. I've been working a bunch of OT and wanting to purchase one soon. I would like to get a 6', but don't want to oveload my machine. Will be doing driveway grading and some dirt digging.

I know your enjoying your new machine

Thanks Steve

chim,
It was leaking enough that I could see it continually dripping, once things heated up a bit. It wasn't just from the quick disconnects I'm sure.

Hi MarkV,

I checked the connections on the valve body this evening while over at my Mom's (it's actually her tractor) and sure enough, that was the problem. The upper left (from the driver's seat) connection was a bit loose. I tightened it up and no more leaks this evening! I should've checked that myself first thing... /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif I guess I thought it might have been some kind of pressure relief thing...
Thanks!

Hi Steve!

Congrats on your new tractor! Yes we have a 5 ft (I'm pretty sure) heavy duty (I think) box scraper we got from Leinbach in Winston Salem. It's actually not a Leinbach implement though - but I can't remember what the brand is (and I even looked at it tonight to see what brand it was /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif). The funny thing is we bought it for a Yanmar YM2000, and I couldn't really even hook it up properly, let alone use it with that tractor. With the 3010, there's no problem whatsoever. I used it one night last week for several hours, and the only problems I encountered where entirely atrributable to operator inexperience. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I think I'd ask around here on the board and see if there's anyone with a 3010 and a 6 ft box blade. Í'd like to know too, although there are several other implements we need worse than a bigger boxblade right now.

yeah i had the same problem with mine. Mine is a 2001 3010 with the 482 fel. It seemed to leak under heavy use. They checked it out under warranty and found they forgot to use tape on the threads.
I still have a problem with my bucket losing presure. When trying to scrape dirt back witht he bucket rolled there is no hydrolic presure to lold the bucket in place it flops (big time)around lose then 3 seconds later its ok. Scheduled to go in again next tues. Then my warranty is done. The tractor is great....... but i see why one of the competeing dealers didnt want to sell me the bota loader...... they suck., or atleast mine does. But yet I didnt want a taky aftermarket on it.

I also have a 5' box scraper on it..... and for the one wondering about it. dont go with a 6', a five is plenty for it and works great. Not enough power for a 6.

Hmm, my new L3010 with 482 loader seems to be doing the same thing. If I tried to load too much (it really didn't seem near it's capacity), the loader just dies. Then couple of seconds later I'm able to raise it. I've also noticed that after some use, if I lower the loader too fast I hear an escaping air noise. I probably should check the connections, then the hydraulic fluid levels.
