Did a search, guess I'm not using the right "key words", cause I know it's been discussed; trying to find info on working the fel control in a manner that causes the bucket to float. Also wondering if there is an easy way to disable the float mode? I have moved quite a bit of dirt around on my property, and so far have not really needed bucket to float. I usually end up putting it in the float mode by accident, after dumping, and wanting to backdrag, then I have to drive back forward, stop, work the control to ensure it's not floating, and finally start backdragging. That little bit of lost time can add up, and get a bit frustrating.

Could someone direct me to an earlier thread on this, or take the time to educate me.
Thanks in advance

You should need to give the lever an extra little push to get it into the float detent. Just remember to not push it all the way. If you disable the float mode, you'll miss it.

You can backdrag in float too. If it's not aggressive enough just "dump" the bucket a little to make it drag at a sharper angle, it'll scrape better that way if that's what you're trying to do.

Thanks Monte,
I was aware of putting fel buckets in the float mode by that "little extra push" you spoke of; however it seems that mine will go into float by just my dumping the bucket a certain way. Could be wrong about that, and I may be pushing into float when dumping, and not realizing it. I thought that I had read that operating the fel control a certain way would also put it into the float mode, but could also be wrong about that.
