I have mentioned this in a couple other treads, I'm looking for a loader, but since I'm finally ready to pull the trigger, I'm not going to threadjack anyone else's thread :)

As it stands, from the research I've done, it looks like my choices are limited to the Koyker 120. I haven't come across any other manufacturer who makes a mounting kit for my F16d.

Does anyone know if Ansung makes a mount kit for an F16d?

How about other brands? I didn't see any good info on Frey's page.

I'd like to get something that is fairly close to the hood of the tractor because my front wheels sit so far back.

That is one of the advantages of the Frey loader is that it sits in closer to the tractor than the Koyker or others. I copied this pic from a thread somewhere here on TBN. I believe that Buck of EFC in Washington State was showing this very fact. I also believe that this is a FX-16. I could be wrong about that.

Thanks for the reply. However, according to the person I talked to at the Frey factory, they do not have a loader to fit any of the F series. That must have been a custom install :(

Buck at EFC has mounting systems. Write to him and he may be able to send you just the mounting hardware--That sure would be easier than fabing it up yourself.

I just found out I have a Koyker & Frey dealer about 1 mile up the road. It's actually close enough to drive the freakin tractor there.

Anyway, after talking to him about the Koyker line, wondering if an 80 would fit instead of the 120 that Koyker says to install... I mentioned that I like the Frey line better for this purpose. But, they don't have a mounting kit available. He said that in the past, he delivered a larger tractor to the factory (about 9 hour drive for me) and they used that to develop the mounting kit.

He's checking in with them to see if they are willing to do that for me. Gotta love good dealers :D (although, his price did sound a bit high on the Koyker).

Koyker has had a big price increase so his price is probably reasonable. Koyker had to pay for there Bahamas employee trip somehow...

If you go with Koyker the 80 is a better fit hands down. If you go with the Frey use the ML165. Your dealer should be able to build you a bracket, it only takes a couple hours.

So, can I get the mounting kit for the 120, but use the 80 instead? I'd like to do that if I can. Thanks again.

I notice that there is a mounting bracket for an Fx16 for an 80 loader. I wonder if it would be smart to buy the Fx16 bracket. That should get me very close - right?

Probably it will be a bolt on, and the 80 will make a better balanced tractor.

The Frey was considerably more expensive than the Koyker 120.

I ended up ordering the Koyker 80 with a "starter kit" for the mounting bracket. I did this because I have a Woods MMM, which looks to be incompatible with the Koyker mounting brackets anyway. After looking closely at my F16, I feel that I could mount the 80 and still keep my MMM mounted (say that 3 times fast  ) at the same time.

I'll be sure to post pic's once it's complete. I suspect this will be a 4-8 week project since I'm also installing power steering at the same time. There wasn't a kit available for the PS, so it'll be quite a bit of fab work as well (probably more fab work than mounting the FEL).

thank you everyone for your opinions. If it wasn't for those, I would have ended up ordering the 120 & been unhappy.

Just an update. Here is a pic of the Koyker 80 on my F16. I'm very glad I went with the 80. The 120 would have swallowed my little F16.

Nice setup, wish I had the power steering on my tractor, I bet it makes steering with a full bucket really easy. Still waiting on snow up here, have not had the tractor in any of the white stuff yet, looks like fun :D

Yes, the Power steering is very nice. There is nothing like spinning the wheel with 1 finger with a full bucket. I'm glad I did both the PS & FEL at the same time.

Nice, nice set up Jimmer.

I need to get power steering and that 80 loader. Do you have any pics of the custom fab? Having done it would you still do it again?

Thanks for the complements Mtsman2

My build log was kept on the general>customization section here:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/customization/111059-power-steering-fel-yanmar-f16.html

It was a lot of fun, and I got to learn a lot about hydraulics and power steering. I was finally able to do some "real" work with it over the past couple weekends. I had a ~40" sicamore tree stump that I cut-off and carried into the woods. Also, I had a couple tons of topsoil delivered that I spread. The 80 is a very powerful loader and a perfect fit for my 19hp tractor. I don't know what I would have done without power steering after I had a bucket full of Sicamore

Yes, I would do it again, in an instant.
