I had a 4x4 750 prior to the 790 I have now, and more than once thought about getting a loader put on it. The one factor that really turned me against it was the fact that the 750 didn't have power steering. Keep in mind that if your buddy's 750 doesn't have PS, he will have a hard time turning with a bucket fully loaded with material. Being in Michigan, I'm guessing he wants it for snow removal? If so, then power steering might not be as much of an issue since he will usually be turning on snow or ice, which will make it easier. If he plans on using it a lot in the summer for material (dirt, gravel, etc) then it will become more of an issue. I was told that you can add power steering, IF the PS kit is still offered by JD but it WILL COST $$$. I think I was quoted like around $1000 a few years ago. Just another point to consider before he makes the move. In the end, I decided it was easier/cheaper to jack up the 750, and drive a 790 underneath it to replace it with.
