Kubota MX5000 & L3800
I want to add a FEL to my MX5000 and need advice on the best (most affordable) way to go about it.

I look on e-bay. I have posted a request on Craigslist. I keep going to my Kubota dealer and hoping that the price of a new, Kubota FEL has mysteriously dropped well below the ~$4,000 that he keeps quoting me.

Should have listened to the consistent advice on TBN to splurge for the FEL at tractor purchase.

Thanks.

you are going to have to get lucky to find a used one and believe me the new ones will not com down in price. You might look into getting a new bushhog brand or woods loader. In some cases they are a little cheaper but I would go with the kubota if I could swing it...

Same here, I bought a M6800 4 years ago and couldn't justify the expense of a FEL. Since My tractor is paid for, I bit the bullet and just bought a Kubota LA1002 and picked it up yesterday. I already have 12 hours on it and it really opens up all new ways to use a tractor. Since this loader only had the Kubota quick connect available, I ordered it w/o a bucket and put an a Tach-All QA. Markham made me a custom 48" heavy duty grapple and also bought a bucket from them that was $500 less than others quoted. Deciding not to cut corners, put on a electric over hydraulic valve. I see myself using the grapple more than the bucket. I cleaned up almost 1/2 mile of a dirt road that had almost disappeared due the ingrowth of privy hedge, vines, sawbriars. We were amazed at how much we accomplished in one day. A dozed would not have done this nearly as cleanly. This grapple would rip 20' trees and bushes up by the roots and then could be carried to a brush pile easily. So I am glad I bought a loader! If it helps, Kubota does have some financing available. My FEL was about $4100 w/o a bucket, the grapple, $1400, bucket, $500, and with the Tach-All, valve and install, total was just over 8 grand. Lots of money but it doubles what you can do with a tractor. What do you plan to do with a FEL if you had one?

get the bucket, i have a LA 702 on my 5000 and if i save my back once a year it is worth it. my wife raised cane over it (the price). get the big bucket also. you'll end up using it as an all purpose wheel barrow, crane, puller, dozer, scafold etc.. also weld a chain hook on each side for ease of rigging when lifting.

I have the LA852 on my MX5000. It's a great FEL. Be sure you keep weight on the back end and go slow until you get the feel for it.
