I have a L3400 that I purchased new last year. I took the FEL off for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Now that I have it back on it seems to leak down when I store it (I store it with the bucket all the way up in the garage against the wall). It never did this before. I stored it all winter long like this with out it dropping an inch.

Is there air in the system now that I disconnected it? If so how do you bleed it out?

thanks in advance for your help.

How long does it take to leak down? A day or two is not right, but you should not expect it to stay in exactly the same spot for a month.

My brand new BX takes about a 5 days before you notice the bucket has moved, and that is only a very small amount

I was under the impression it's not good to keep hydraulics under pressure when not in use. It prematurely ages things. This may not be true these days but that is what I understood over the years.

I notice it the next morning. Like I said I had it up in the full position for weeks before with no loss of position. Not sure if this is problem or if its common.

I'm not sure if it is normal but is it possible that dirt went in the hydraulic plugs when it was disconnected?
I have a L3540 and when I remove the FEL and disconnect the hoses, there are caps that I put on the plugs to prevent dirt on the connectors.
I also plug the dirt caps together when the FEL is on so dirt don't enter the caps while working.
