I own a 2003 Case IH DX33.

My FEL control lever will not stay in the float position... I removed the rubber booth to check if there were a possible ajustement, and I found no adjustement screw. But when the rubber booth is removed, the lever stay in the float position.

It seems that the booth put a backward pressure on the control lever and makes it come out of the float position.

Anyone has a solution for this problem ?

Snow blowing season i coming fast, and I need to keep the FEL lever in the float position for my front mounted blower.

Lube that boot with silicone, and reduce the binding. You could cut around the lever shaft to relieve the tension. Just do both.

if you cut the boot is there a possiblity of water getting in.I would just lube the boot

I have a brand new Koyker 160 loader that's done that from the get go its annoying as anything but no solution from me but I feel the pain.

I did call Koyker once about another problem I was having and told them it wouldn't curl down to dump at times and he said there was an adjustment under a tin cap on the joystick valves but I have not messed with it maybe its just an adjustment on both ours who knows? good luck

Is the boot putting pressure on the stick to push it back. Have you tried loosening the lock nut and turning the stick a bit so it doesn't have as much pressure on it when the lever is at full forward? SImple fix and $0....the best kind.

Yes I tried to turn the lever, but no result... the boot was now too tight sideway...

Next week end, i will try to lubricate the boot with silicone...

Fanlo,

The problem is not on the control lever side but rather on the opposite side of the spool.....on the back side there's a cap with springs, balls, washers ect...you probably have wear and rust wreaking havoc......

be carefull when you take it apart as the balls and other parts may pop out of the assy when you expose the problem area....

Depending on the make of valve the best option is to buy the replacement parts in a kit to replace all the small parts that hang on the back side....if there is an adjustment you'll find it there....maybe just a good clean/lube and adjust is needed.....:)
