FEL outside storage???

Due to some house trading, my front end loader for my BX2200 is going to have to live outside. I don't like it but that's the way it will be for the foreseeable future.
Is there anything I should do to protect it? The control valve and hoses look like the only thinks that might suffer.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If it’s really bothering you, throw a tarp over it… you might grease any of the exposed cylinder rods also…. KennyV.

Grease her up well and cover all the pistons with some sort of oil to prevent rust. I'd also cover with a good tarp.

I'd consider putting it on something, like a couple of treated 2x10's or something so the stands don't sink in the ground too much. One 8' cut in half would do nicely, placed long ways under the bucket and stands.

Maybe spend a couple hundred at SAMS Club and buy a King Canopy with the enclosed sides and ends. An instant 10 x 20 garage of sorts. Of course remember to properly anchor so there is a few more bucks.

I use one all Winter for my BX then in the summer, the truck gets kicked out of the garage and the BX goes in.

My King Canopy is 6 years old and still kicking!

Mine has spent 94% of it's life outdoors unprotected. Nothing more than a little surface rust where the paint gets nicked. You might want to steel wool and touch up spots like that- otherwise, no problem. Your hydraulic pistons will not rust.

The big issue you will have is reinstalling the FEL if it is not even/level with the tractor. I found that out the hard way!

I would make a platforn using a couple of pallets and some treated ply.

oh, yes- I also second (or third) this recommendation.
Even if you just use a couple of 2x4s (on solid ground) and you will need something to go under the fold-down supports.
