I know I'm really asking for trouble from the safety-patrol but I will pose this question anyway. Before I bought my tractor, I was shopping at another NH dealer and I commented that the FEL did'nt have enough downforce to lift the front end of the tractor without rolling the bucket. The John Deere and Kubota's do this easily. Well, he sent the tractor into the service bay and it came out five minutes later with enough downforce to do what I asked.

OK, where is the relief that they adjusted ?

Ok Jerry... you're asking for some Top Secret... information... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

You better "post" your security clearance and credentials before that issue can be addressed... /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

Also New Holland has this 67 page form you must fill out to be reviewed and determined if you really need that information.../w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

On my TC45D w/ R4's the FEL does not go low enough to lift the front tires. You are simply at the end of the stroke on the lift cylinders. You can lift the front by dumping the bucket but the tractor needs to be in neutral. Otherwise you are fighting the HST as lifting the front pulls the rear tires forward.

I would strongly advise against messing with the relief unless you like changing hydraulic hoses.

JT, I know what you are talking about when say that there is not enough travel left in the cylinders. Tipping the bucket into dump position can and will lift my tractor. But if you dump the bucket first and then try to lift with downforce, there is not enough pressure. In this scenario it's not a matter of cylinder travel. All the John Deeres and Kubotas that I test drove could do this easily.

To be clear, I am looking to tap a little more of the hydraulic power for lifting stuff. My tractor is rated at 2150 psi, but the loader goes into relief at 1800 psi. I know that it is set this way for a reason. But, theres got to be room for a 'little' increase.

You might also notice a difference when the tractor is warm to when it is cold. When my TC35 is warm it will pop the wheels off the ground in a blink of an eye, when cold it is very sluggish. I guess the cold hydro fluid flows more slowly and pops the relief valve earlier.
