Mahindra 6500 4WD with Skid Steer FEL.Mahindra 3616 HST with Skidsteer, Vermeer RT200 Trencher
Tired of spinning wheels on my 5005 DI. Bit the bullet and ordered a new 6500 4WD with FEL. Have option to get the Quick Attach for $585 but don't use a hay fork (at least for now). Should I get it anyway? What else can you put on front ?

Pallet forks, brush grapple, 4-in-1 bucket come quickly to mind -- basically anything that can mount on a skidsteer loader, as long as you have enough lift capicity and enough hydraulic flow and connections. :D

Just one "caution" -- the Mahindra QA ia a solid panel across the front. Most skid steers' QA's are open in the center (tied together with tube or box back a ways). A few skid steer attachments (notably the Woods bale spear and a few others) protrude into the space that doesn't exist on the Mahindra QA. I ended up with an Edge bale spear because the Woods has the main spear nut in that space. Local Gehl dealer says he has seen a few other problems, but not many. All the other skid steer attachments I have looked at are no problem -- augers, buckets, hydraulic boom.

Two other comments -- I have bucket, forks, and bale spear and use all three a lot. Note that you do not have any auxiliary hydraulics out front, but that can be remedied fairly easily if you get a 4-in-2, grapple, or auger.

I don't know what model loader are you referring to having a solid panel across the front. My ML275 with skid steer QA is open. Nothing goes across but the loader cross (spreader) bars.
If you are thinking skid steer QA and will not be using many attachments, here is a thought. Just being able to sit my bucket on my trailer, pull the two levers, tilt and back away is really convenient. That way, if you need any welding on the bucket, you don't have to take the whole rig to the welding shop.
My bucket is on my trailer as I type. I am going to take it to the welding shop to get a receiver hitch tube welded on. Then I will be able to move my gooseneck around without any hookup to the truck hassles.
hugs, Brandi

As Brandi said, the 275 SK is not solid across. The two sides are joined by a 2.5" anti torsion spreader that is part of the attachment. This acts along with 2 other spreaders that join the loader arms. At least thats the way it is on the one on my 7520 4wd. I believe the SK is a different thing from the MH QA, and is the better choice.

I've got the 6500 4wd with the skid steer quick attach. I just posted a thread about this very issue a week or so ago. While it was an issue for me with the bale spear that is the only one I have run into again and I would still buy the quick tach. The worksaver bale spear worked fine. I think this is more of an oversight on the attachment builders as most attachments respect that area. I am using pallet forks, bucket with toothbar, and bale spears on mine. They make attachment and changeout a 2 minute process. Very handy!

I have called and had them put it back in order. Will pick up 6500 4WD May 25. They already had one on order.

Darn, Due to Mahindra moving from Tomball my 6500 4WD
won't be available till June 5. I hope the move doesn't affect quality.

I just got a 2007 6500 with QA FEL. Is there a way to easily remove the entire loader, not just the bucket? Thanks, Doug
