I'm OK with the grapple speed with 3rd fxn switch by WR Long on loader stick. I just want to slow the up/down loader movement and dump til I have more experience. I'm not doing any production jobs where increased loader speed would be beneficial.

Now I understand. I'm a little slow sometimes.

When I want precise control of the joystick, I try to support my arm against something solid and then gently apply pressure with my hand to feather the joystick. I've done it so much that I can actually feel where the loader will begin to drop and drop the loader slowly even with a full load. It's easier to feather the curl than the arms, but both directions are easy after a lot of practice. ...a good excuse for more seat time.
