FEL tooth for a ditch

Is there a clamp on trenching tooth that I can temporarily install at he right edge of the FEL bucket in order to scratch out a shallow thin ditch in my excavation so that rainwater can drain off ? I dug out a 15'x40' box next to my garage and currently rainwater is settling in at the back right corner @ 6" deep. It's almost level to slightly downhill on that side. A shallow ditch along the wall would drain it off.

Not really anything that I am aware of.

A middlebuster or subsoiler on the 3PH would probabally do the trick. You can google it. they usually run about $200 @ TCS.

Or if you have a back blade, you can adjust your right lower link and tilt the blade as far as you can in one direction.

Or if you have a boxblade, you could raise all of the ripper teeth and lower just one all of the way.

It would really help if you filled out your signature line with what type of tractor and attachments you have and we could better advise.

But for no bigger of an area, and no bigger of a "trench" than you want, I'd probabally opt for the ole shovel method.

I don't think you are supposed to load just one side of a FEL that way. Maybe the soil is loose but you still might hook a root or rock or something. That could bend things and throw the FEL out of alignment or worse, break something. How about borrowing a blade for the 3PT if you don't have one. Find a blade that is wider than the rear wheel tracks so you can tilt and angle it.

Use the FEL from the side to dig the ditch? Photos of the area would help show us what we have to work with... :2cents:

Seems like somebody has probably hooked up a ripper tooth to the center of a FEL. Like putting a tooth bar or a claw on.

But why the FEL? Why not the three point? With a subsoiler or ripping tooth.

I like that spade idea. the soil I need to trench is real loose, but it's a long drag to get it to drain over the hill. I fixed my signature

I ust put in a french drain about 7 inches deep by digging striaght down (bucket uncurled) with my B3200 - No toothbar. I looked at a bunch of different ways to do it and almost bought a couple of items and then one day decided to start "gnawing" at it. About an hour later I was amazed at what I had accomplished - I would think with a toothbar you could dig what you want without purchasing a new item???

My problem is I cannot attack it head on, has to be from the side. I can pull up with the right side bank on my right and drag backwards - that's about it.
