In a related event, FEL takes on Windstar rear bumper and wins! Guess if you are a "bota" owner with a FEL you learn to spot the tell tale orange on other people's equipment and vehicles. I think I will just spray paint my car and save the trouble!

Sounds like you guys are having a good old time /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif except for the bumper /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.
The little bx's sure are nice machines.
Sandyc,
I paid $9 a can for Kubota frame grey paint. Sounds like an expensive proposition to re-paint the Windstar. Maybe paint below the trim line (lowered fel can't see where I'm at territory). Just kidding, couldn't resist /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
Happy tractoring,

These things happen. I have been lucky in that I have only hit the kid’s playset (easily fixed).

I did leave out the part where I mowed and THEN put the loader on specifically for one task. Then I took it off again (or I will, the quick connects were too hot when I was done).
That loader is super useful, but quickly becomes a liability when you are done. It is easy to take off, and as skilled tractor men and women, we need to become adept at it. I still have too much trouble getting it back on. I keep pushing the lever one way , and then back and try rolling it, woops no the other way, kind of stuff. But still, it only takes 6 or 8 minutes. Absolutely a no big deal event. And I am now in love with FEL-FREE mowing.

Gotta agree with you here! I just took the FEL off yesterday for the first time so that I could mow. What a great mowing machine this is! Puts my old Wheel Horse 520H to shame! Better turning radius, quieter operation, better speed control, effortless steering, and an extra foot of mowing deck! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The mmm wasn't bad to do either except for the drive shaft. That's a pain in the butt. I found it easier to put the deck on with the loader still attached. This allows me to pick up the front end some and create more clearance to get the deck in and out. (Couldn't do that with the wheel horse either!) And yes, I dropped it back down before crawling under to hook up the shaft! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Actually, I was thinking of downgrading to a little smaler tractor (TG series) because I thought I was done with the FEL! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Well I guess I learned my lessone! You always have a need for the FEL, all you have to do is wait a bit!

Rogue,

I sometimes have the same problem remembering lever positioning in getting the loader/backhoe on my BX back on. I made some simplified instruction sheets. I keep them in a protective sheet cover and then just grab them to have handy when taking things off/on. Easier than getting the instruction book when things go wrong. You may need to modify them a bit but they work for me. I'll try to attach them here.
