If you are buying a new loader it will come (or should) with instructions. If you are buying one from a private owner that will be a different story.

There are a couple of brands out there around the 2,000.00 price range but most are upwards of 3,500 to 4,500.00 for the quick attach models. Depends on the size you are looking for.

Either way, you will need someone to help you install it if you want to be safe about it. If you install it by yourself, you will need an engine lift as they are quite heavy and a lot of potential to smash your fingers.

Make sure you get the right sub frame for your model tractor. The factory models are much easier to work with than getting one that came off another tractor.

You are going to have to cut into the tractor's hydraulic line but that is not a big problem. Factory units should come with the fittings to do this. Otherwise, you can get them from Hoye and several other suppliers.

Also, if you purchase one from a manufacture, you will need some way to get it off the truck when it arrives. They will weigh a few hundred pounds and be on a pallet.

One more question I know its best if its a 4wd but will a 2wd do well enough to make it worth the expense. Most of what I move will be light such as compost and the like

For our area 2wd will be Fine. I use a Fel. on a 2wd JD. Never had a problem and do alot digging and gradeing with it. If that is all your mostly going to use it for you should be fine. Deep N Dirt has one on his 2wd ym1700 who is local to me and never hear any complaints. It mostly depends on what your needs and expectations are.;)

There is a bunch of different brands out there as you probably know. I am just posting one. Not advertising for them, but I believe probably the lowest price out there. You will have to determine whether it meets your requirements or not. With 2 wheel drive I suspect it would be heavy enough or you. Coldwatertractors.com

When I built my loader, I did so with the tractor and steering in mind. I built it a little smaller and lighter as to not stress the tractor. My tractor (YM1900) is almost identical to the YM2000 with 2 wheel drive and I don't have any problems with the steering. The loader winston1 is showing you is almost identical to what I built and it is doing everything I need it for. Had I known about this loader before hand, I would have bought it instead of building it.

Their website says to contact them via email if you want a phone number:confused: Kind of odd if you are wanting to sell things.
