FELS assisted metal roof cleaning

Metal roofs in Florida that are shaded quickly attract unsightly mold. Renting a man bucket is the easiest way to pressure wash them. But certainly not the cheapest. I already had a water broom for cleaning my large driveway so A little brainstorming came up with something that worked fast and well. My platform is a sturdy pallet safely attached. My sturdy assistant positioned me in the center of 3 panels and I quickly moved down each side, finishing faster than I could have driven to town and fetched the lift. I used 1&1/4 inch thin walled PVC pipes to guide the broom to the peak and back. A spring clip kept the handle trigger depressed. The raised edges of the panels helped guide each vertical run.

Be careful on that pallet!!! Have to really trust the operater.......

Great job, really looks good. I know some people frown on using a fel and a good sturdy pallet for
a platform. You do have to be careful but you have to be even more careful with a ladder.

So I will take the FEL, a good sturdy platform and a sure handed operator over a ladder any day.

In fairness, we make fun of the fact the ya'll are always talking so fast even more than the cold. :wink:

Nice solution... that looks remarkably like my easy tree pruning rig.

People aren't wrong though, you have to realize you are trusting that operator with your life.
