Has anyone ever bought a gas powered tpost driver? Skidrill makes one, it's on YouTube, just want to see what are peoples recommendations on this, thanks in advance

No but if you own a tractor you can buy a post driver that goes on your 3pt hitch for not a lot more money than those cost, and then you could pound anything in the ground. I borrow my neighbors, it will drive a 6x6 square post 3' in the ground in about 30 seconds. It will drive a Tpost in about 3 seconds.

Not sure I would even be wanting to be standing on that ground...!

The type of ground you have makes a difference...are they common in your region?

I watched a Amish Crew put up my neighbors fence. The drove treated wood post as big as 4x4's for the main line and round post as big around as telephone poles on the corner. It shook my house 1000' away but did the job quick.

It depends mostly how much it's rained. If the soil's damp it goes in like butter. If it's really dry it's quite a bit harder. We have very rocky soil, I guess the post just pushes the rocks out of the way, or pushes them down to China. I didn't believe this thing would work until I saw it, now I use it all the time.

I have a 3ph hydraulic post driver. Put in over 200 4" x 4" x 8' PT posts, 3 feet into the ground and about 40 8' T posts 3' into the ground. If a rock is in the way, the post can deviate from vertical, but it still goes in the ground. In ground with no rocks, 30 seconds and 3 seconds would be possible.

Agree withe above. We have had the same Mennonite crew out three times for different projects; they have a big unit built in Canada, sorry don't have specs but it has six-way hydraulic adjustment and is mounted on a big tractor that just barely fits through an 8 foot gate. We have about six inches of topsoil and then heavy clay with rocks - high summer is the wrong time to pound posts; otherwise they go in fast. My 3ph PHD takes about five minutes if there are absolutely no problems (rocks, gets stuck) to dig a hole for one post, then there is getting the post in and keeping it level while you fill and tamp. Meanwhile the post pounders have put in about 10 posts.
