3-Point Hitch Ferguson 3 point hitch won't go down

AND you can break the stem on the CV if you pull the cover without disconnecting the control fork FIRST.

Afther traying to pull out a stump, the 3point linkedge jumpd up, and got stuck won't come down only afther stopping engine when starting , it goes up again, what is the trubble ?.?

Pull inspection plate and see if t valve moving in and out with 3pt control, hopefully you didn't bend the draft linkage under the cover

I am new to the post. But I have the same problem. I was backing up, snow blowing. I ran into a post and jammed the 3 point.
The 3 point came up and will not go down.
I took off the inspection cover and looked inside. NOT ALLOT TO SEE THROUGH A 5" HOLE.
I don't see anything that resembles a "T' or an "H".
When I move the up/down position control lever, there is a very small amount of movement in the linkage. (inside)

I see two springs in parallel that look fine. Connected on both ends. No breaks.
These springs do NOT move when I adjust the up/down position control.

One post said to reach down in the oil. Should I feel movement down in the oil when I move the control lever?

The three point is powered up and falls down by gravity. With the engine off, reach down into the oil and feel around for the end of the "T" shaped control valve which should be held by the "H" shaped control fork. It must be attached to the control fork because that is what actuates it. You should be able to move the T shaped control valve back and for about 1 inch. If it is stuck, when you move it, the three point should fall. (IIRC, pulling it backs ports the lift cylinder to the reservior and it should drop.)Start the engine and make sure that the pto is engaged. Move the control lever up and down. Did you get any response from the three point?

I believe it's a TO30. PTO drives the hydraulic pump.

DON"T TAKE OFF THE LIFT COVER! Take off the side access plate.


The control valve is located in the pump and is actuated by a "T" shaped handle that is hooked to the the "H" shaped control fork. Reach down into the oil and pul the "T" shaped control valve stem backward and it should move about 1 inch and the lift should drop. Make sure the "T" shaped handle is in the little sockets on the "H" shaped control fork. Sometimes the valve sticks in it's bushing due to dirt and crud. Sometimes the cotter pin wears out on the "T" handle. etc.
