I think more than one person has this idea in his head, or maybe someone has already made it possible!
The question is concrete ... is it possible to operate the hydraulic pump independent of the PTO?
Well, the ferguson system is horrible, it is very difficult to operate an implement that needs to be lifted by the third point without being driven by the PTO.

Excuse my english, The hydraulic pump and the PTO in a ferguson t20 work together, you must engage the lever that makes the PTO work so that the hydraulic pump works, I would like to change that system.

The loader on my MF 261 uses a second hydraulic pump that takes power from the front of the front of the crank shaft. If you can't find one at a decent price it might be cheaper to trade tractors.

Yes that's right that's how the Ferguson 20s worked. It was the first of the hydraulic point linkage tractors to be produced so we can't fault them this was a major thing at the time.

What I.would recommend you do.if you haven't already one is have a PRO cover for a safety element if you are to use non PTO implements on.

But yes if this isn't for you I'd suggest you trade it I'm for a Massey Ferguson Double Clutch 35

You could make a front pump and a new valve for the 3pt.
