I tried posting this to the Agri Supply web site in the form of a product review but after four months is hasnt shown up - I guess because I provided some negative details. I noticed that their products have all very positive reviews... I’m going to post this info here because there are a couple things you should know before you decide if this pump is right for you. Overall its a great pump for my irrigation needs. It has a built-in pressure regulator and I do recommend it if your needs and resources are similar to mine. I use it to drive four Meridian Harris Farms T Post Sprinkler heads. It has volume and pressure to spare.
There were two issues with the pump I received:
1. After abt five minutes of operation I shut down to inspect everything (always watch a new attachment) and found one of the bolts had backed out and was laying on the ground under the pump. I found that none of the bolts had loctite or lock washers so you will need to be alert for this problem. I fixed it before I continued.
2. Contrary to the published spec. It would not self-prime from a well with the water only 18 below the pump. It would not even pump with a foot valve and the suction line primed. I wanted this thing to work so I plumbed up two 275 gal IBC tanks to create a 550 gal above ground tank system and solved the problem.
I was disappointed but the ground was very dry and I had a nice whitewater river just behind the house. I use a cheap little Harbor Freight pump setting down by the river to fill the tanks. Now I can run the tractor (Deutz-Allis 5215) at 1500 rpm and really move some water with the Ferroni pump. Ill attempt to create a video of the pump in action.
