fiat f110 hydraulic coupler diffrent sizes?

I am not able to connect anything to the top half of the valve sets the manual states "each control valve is provided with two quick-disconnect push-pull 1/2 in female couplings suitable for connection to pressure connect push-pull male couplings (optional)."

the manual leads me to belive they are both identical so why will my connectors only fit the bottom half of the set?

Maybe they will fit, but the residual pressure prevents you from coupling.

On the tractor side, wiggle the valve lever to release any pressure. On the implement side bleed the QD.

i checked them again i was able to get one set to work i think it just has three bad couplers on it the one of the many joys of second hand tractors as they all appear to be the same size and type
