Fiber patio cover safe for car parking

Jack, do you mean canvas stretched over a metal frame? I'm just not sure what the "fiber patio cover" is? Can you be a bit more specific? Right now I'm not sure if you are talking about the corrugated fiberglass panels at HD/Lowes or some type of cloth. I have an awning over my deck (SunSetter brand) and it would NOT be my choice for a carport. However, I see no problem with stretching canvas over a metal frame or building with fiberglass panels.

If you look around you can get a car shelter for ~$250. I got two for $99 each two years ago on special.

Think about the real cost of making one and it may be enough that buying one is a better idea.
