Mowing Field Mower

I need a descent size brushhog that will fit on a tractor with about 28 PTO HP. Does anyone know of any good companies and what size mower I should get? Any help would be appreciated- Thanx

Good morning Ben.
Since your wheel base on your L35 just under 6 feet I would lean towards a 7 foot bush hog, but that depends on the type of land also O.D. of what you are planning to chop.

Have you check out the website for Bush Hog yet?

There are many companys out there,but as you notice as I have here in the northeast, the section for some implements aren't all that great.....mmm.

Your operators manual will list the recommended size of rotary mower. Probably 5 ft is about right. Is the width of the L35 over 62 inches?

The six and seven foot rotary cutters are pretty heavy to pick up and take up a lot of room behind the tractor also. Many 30 PTO HP tractors cannot pick up a 7 ft PTO mounted rotary cutter without a lot of weight on the front of the tractor. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Rhino and Bush Hog make nice mowers. They are available with fabric or chain guards. I would lean to the Bush Hog if I were buying chain guards. The medium duty mowers are really well made, but are heavy due to the 1/4 inch material in the side plates. The light duty mowers are also well made, just thinner material and lighter gearboxes.
