hey folks,
I am about to start filling in around the walls of our new house.
We used all the dirt we pulled out for road work and other tasks.
The goal was to save it, and due to weather and washing and other problems, we had to use it. We are not it a pinch, but if we start now a load or 2 at a time, we will have it finished before we move in...

So I have a few questions:
1. What do you see as pricing in the Western NC area?
2. anyone have some good contacts? want to share? PM's are fine.

The area to fill is about 2 1/2 feet wide x 80 feet by 8 feet high = 1600 cubic ft. So that makes it about 60 cubic yards..

thanks,
Jim

Actually 72 yards, assuming 20% compaction which is typical. Also don't mean to be a pain but I grew up on a nursery and there is no such thing as "dirt" except when you sweep you carpet.

Thre is gravel, sand, loam, silt, clay etc. and they each come in several grades. 4-20 yard tri-axles would do at about $8 to $12/yard.

Of these gravel would the correct material to fill near a foundation with. Right near the foundation you could use some course sand or processed gravel. Farther out you could use bank run gravel still watching the max stone size.

Try it, it will work and all free

Mr Jimi- I like your Art! Ever consider adding a motion detector to it? The detector could turn on the reverse/back-up lites when someone walked by it.:D -Ed

Another good one, I just sold the trailer out from under it, the guy that bought the trailer asked how I was going to get boat off trailer, I slid it back and lifted the bow and the trailer came out
I still have a Mercruiser I/O unit and a 4 CYL 2.5 engine to sell (Alpha One)
