Fill me in on the pumpkins!

Whats the latest on the pumpkin patches? I haven't been back up to my patch since I planted the rest of the patch about 2-3 weeks ago.

Pumpkins require alot of potash and nitrogen. I have been told they need to be on a 3 year patch rotation. Thats all i know. Ive been planting small patches for the last 4 years and im still learning.

Here is a photo of mine on July 12. I planted one acre of pumpkins. I just spread the last of the urea (46-00-00) fertilizer. Now it's up to the plants, bees and mother nature. We thinned the plants to about 1900 and should harvest around 3000 Connecticut field pumpkins averaging 12 to 20 lbs each. No sign of beetles, mildew or wilt yet. Lots of flowers ready to open.
