Today, I tried to dig into a pile of loam, but my tractor just couldn't do it. I then tried to go up a slight incline, but the tractor just didn't move. Thinking that it might be low on hydraulic fluid, I added a little to bring it up to the full mark. It took only a pint, not enough to make a difference. I was totally baffled and thought that the transmission had gone bad. A neighbor stopped by while I was having these problems and he noticed that the tire was staying stationary, but the rim was spinning inside of the tire. The tires are filled with the non toxic "beet juice" known as Rim Guard. . I put additional air into the tire hoping to seal the bead, but it didn't help. The tire isn't leaking, but the rim justs spins on the tire bead. Any suggestions how to remedy this problem? thanks

I have never worked with RimGuard, but I would jack the wheel up off of the ground. Then try to put air in it. That way there is a better chance that the bead will come in contact with the rim and take air.

Scary. I have never heard of this happening but have always worried about it where the rim is much smaller than the tire outside diameter. I imagine this is the case in your instance and that your tires are tubeless. Maybe rimguard is agood lubricant and it has worked into the tire bead area. You are going to have to dismount, completely clean and dry the tire, and remount to establish good bead contact. I dont know how to keep it from happening again other than install a tube. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Harry welcome to TBN, I'm curious what make of tractor are you having a problem with? Do you know if your tires are tubeless?

I've run RimGuard for 4 years in my TN with 16.9x30 R1's and push them hard. Have never had any slippage problems but then I do run them at rated air pressure. I don't play the games that some here do with varing air pressure.
