My neighbor reminds me on a weekly basis that I should put water (?) in my rear tires for stability (F20D). How many readers have done this, what is the advantage, what about freezing and how is it done? We have some pretty steep slopes here and he says it will help with traction.

I have it in my M1700 but, I don't have to worry much about freezing down here. It does make a big difference. There are other fluids that you can use such as windshield washer fluid, add antifreeze to the water, etc.

Listen to him, DO IT!

Great with traction, and keeping the tractor upright. Both of these are useful.

Rimguard doesn't freeze.

Search on here, you'll find a gazillion posts on the subject if filling tires.

I filled mine. I added 1 gallon of Sierra Anti-freeze to each tire. I wanted the extra weight for traction and stability. Added about 1000 pounds to my tractor.

You can but the fill valve kit at napa for about 20 bucks.
