Hi Folks,
Has anyone here figured out the cross reference numbers for the oil and fuel filters from those used on a LX410 between Yanmar and Wix. On the Wix web site they do not list the LX410. To get the engine number from the machine you need to lift the hood crawl up there with your head between the hood and engine. I thought someone might have done it.
Thanks

Ok I found the engine model in the manual and checked the Wix web site. It listed engines but not the one in either the LX410 or LX450.

Just spoke to the dealer and the a set of oil and fuel filters (1 each) is $20.47 for the set so I guess it is reasonable. They also told me the air filter had come down to $90 from $110.

According to the parts manual the part number for the oil filter is CY-129150-35153. If you do a web search on 129150-35153 you'll see that this filter is used on numerous Yanmar motors. According to a couple of web pages,

YANMAR |
and
Hanlec Power Solutions | Shop | Viewing Oil Filter 129150-35153

What's weird is that if you search Yanmar's parts search, it can't find part number 129150-35153.

According to the following websites:
http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/f54/yanmar-oil-filter-97294.html
and
Cross reference Yanmar 129150-35153 oil filter to Fram and NAPA

It seems that the Yanmar part number crosses to
Wix#57356 or Napa #7356
but if you enter in the Yanmar part number on WIX Filters - Products Catalog Home, the Wix part numbers that come up are the following:
51334
51334XP

There is a Fram reference on one of the web pages that I came across but when you search Fram's competitor cross reference, nothing comes up.
FRAM - Application Look-up

So I'm not really sure which Wix/Nape filter is a cross reference. Most dealers will ship directly to your house if you're looking for convenience. I'm not sure what the difference in price wise is though. From what NHSawyer is saying about the Oil and Fuel filter costing $20.47, that seams like a pretty good price.

It's always good to compare the sizes of the filter and that the rubber seal matches up as you wouldn't want to put an oil filter on that doesn't seal properly.

Thanks,
Greg

Thanks, Greg that was an informative post.
I figure the $20.47 is a decent price for the pair of filters.

FRAM 3593A or Purolator L14459. I bought my new LX410 June 2014 and love it. It has only 20 hrs; I purchased a Yanmar replacement filter from the dealer intending to change the oil at 30 hrs ahead of the 50 hour service for added break in protection. I made an imprint mold of the filter face and took that to Walmart; I had a gray market Mitsubishi tractor that took a FRAM 3593A so that is the first I tried and it fit perfectly too; cross referenced to get the Purolator #. I studied the internal makeup of each filter and determined the Purolator had a more durable design with backflow valve to prevent dry starts. So, my plan is to use the under $4 Purolator at 30 hours, then restort back to the $8 Yanmar filter at 50 hrs (reason: have to take it 45 miles to the dealer for a warranty item anyway (temp gauge inoperable), so will let them do the 50 hrs service). Thereafter, I may use Purolators for the convenience of a local vice remote purchase.

thporter, Thanks for the information. Looking on FRAM's website, it looks like the 3593A cross references to a bunch of filters.

FRAM Part Number PH3593A Details

Under Yanmar I don't see the filter # 129150-35153 listed, but I do see the following numbers:
129150-35150
129150-35151
129150-35152

Looking under Komatsu, I do see YM129150-35153 listed, which I would assume it's the same filter.

FWIW. I've been using a Fram 3593A for the last 6 Yrs. on a Late 70's Yanmar Ym2000. Not a problem with them at all. I actually seen the Fram on a CL. Pic. on a used Tractor at a Yanmar Dealer and asked for the Part#.. 3.75$ at Wally's World. 8.00$+ shipping a filter from a Yanmar parts dealer was hard to justify.

Both the fuel and oil filters use the same 20X1.5 MM thread, this should be the same on most Yanmars that take spin-on filters.

I order most of my filters through Fleetfilter.com and get the $125 order discount:

NAPA 1334 Oil Filter: $4.35
NAPA 3399 10 micron fuel filter: $9.62

So yeah, $20 bucks for both is not bad at all. I'll pick up a pair the next time at my dealer. It never hurts to have a spare set of filters, or two, and having the OEM brand CYA for warranty issues.
