Where in the owner's manual can I find the filter numbers for my Kubota L3800 gear drive? I have been skimming through looking for that information but, not finding it as yet. Are the Kubota numbers on the filters themselves? Thanks.

Go to;www.kubotausa.com and then to "parts" type in your tractor model #.You then can go to Messicks and mail order, local dealer or cross ref with the local auto supply house.

Apparently that site domain has expired and needs renewed. At least that is what I got when I clicked on your link. Thanks.

Wow, that kind of blows my confidence in Kubota as a manufacturer, that they would switch systems and require different filters based on different serial numbers within a production run. Kind of tacky.

I'm a bit confused by your statement here. The link Messick provided shows the filters for the L3800. The DT is a gear transmission tractor, no HST transmission, thus HST transmission filter. The hydraulic filter is the same, as is the fuel, oil and air filters.

I'm at a bit of a loss as to how this shakes your confidence in Kubota as a manufacturer, perhaps you can clarify your concerns?

The L3130 has FST, GST and HST transmissions engine oil is the same but transmission filter is different and hydraulic is the same. When there is a serial number break it is usually because of a design change or supplier change. Do not see what you are not understanding??

Part numbers are never in the owners manual as the part sources are different for each country they are sent to and sometime Kubota USA will source parts outside of Kubota Japan.

You want to see tacky go see what Chrysler did to the HEMI engine a few years back going from a inch thread oil filter to a metric thread.
