Using WIX online catalog lookup ....

Oil Filter

Fuel Filter

On the ^linked pages^ click "All Applications" to see the exact reference to your 336D

Here's the link to the NAPA 336D filters lookup

Neither WIX nor NAPA list a hydraulic filter for the 336 in their application guides. Some folks suggest that WIX 51525 is a suitable hydraulic filter for the 336D, others have reported clogging or other issues when using it. That WIX filter crosses to NAPA 1525.

NONE of the above to be construed as any sort of 'endorsement' for ANY of these - just doing the google legwork since you didn't.

Then there's the 'white box' filters from Hoye which has a great reputation and obvious interest in selling products specifically to the Yanmar 336D community which work as they should over the long-haul. Maybe you pay a few bucks more but then maybe you get what you pay for. You can buy in bulk to save shipping, filters have an indefinite 'shelf-life'. < That IS an 'endorsement'. ;)

I think I used a fram the last oil change. It was all I had around when I changed the oil

I have used several Hoye Filters. i bought a 3 pack this last parts order so i will use them the next three years but the past few i have used CARQUEST (wix made) filters, Purorlator, and this last time bought a Fram but it was like the Tough or Extreme guard filter.

Been using Fram since not long after I bought the 2000. Picked up a couple from Fred. while I was there. And the 3 pack from Hoye before changing to them. I was going through them fast. Not only just from my use but the apparent lack of Maint. over the Yrs.. 25Hrs. and they was extremely heavy. Seen the orange on a dealer lot and asked for the #. Which had no problem in doing...

I seen enough at the Spring and then the filter material. There is never going to be enough oil pressure to flatten it like that. The material was so cheap he couldn't cut it with a knife? They worked fine for me on my 1979 diesel tractor.. for the last 10Yrs... The others is so cheap it needs twice as much material.................. IMO. Plus he saying a lot about cars.

I have seen and heard all that about frams. They have better construction recently too. BUT here is the other thing, would Fram intentionally put out an inferior product that leaked dirty oil and would cause engines to wear out early that they could become caught up in a class action lawsuit over?? They test them and don't want them to fail or bypass.

All that said do I use Fram??? I use to years ago cause I liked when they went to grip. Others have followed and I try to use them. Today I generally avoid them cause they do have cheaper construction and there are better filter for similar money,am I afraid of them, no not really. I have used the higher priced frams which have better construction.

 I have hole out back I pour all my old filters and oil in. I can go out there and get 5 different oil filters. Kid you not. A Motorcraft, fred., Hoye, and 2 different Frams. Am I going to go cut them up and see how there made? No!!! I'm with you Clemsonfor- Lawsuit!! The higher Fram I didn't care for. It was working but seemed to be awful heavy so I went back to the Reg. one........... Same ole same no oil leaks or use so hey!.

Just trying to pass knowledge along in case you didn't know. You are better off buying any other filter than a fram.

I will look at what filter I have on my YM2001. It is probably a compatible filter.
