Finally,I broke down and bought the part for the bent power steering rod.Wound up buying a new one. After talking to a couple of shops. The recommeded method of repair was to make a new rod.Not to straighten the old one.Ok I say how much.Comes to about $300 for Parts, labor, and new rebuild kit from dealer.Never mind I said.I'll just by a new one and put it on my self....$425 +tax.Figured why take a chance on the warrenty. Easy repair but I don't plan to do it again.Maybe I'll go beaver hunting /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gifany body need a new fur coat..../w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif...How bout those skid plates some mentioned, any body had any luck?

A pic is attached. The bent shaft {cylinder rod}connects to the left front hub a the other end under the front end...

Glad to see you're back "on line" with the steering. The photo tells the whole story. You really gave it a punch didn't you? Hope you don't do anything like that again.

...and take out a beaver for me too./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I finished the skid plate on my TC45 but haven't been back to the country to try it out yet. If it works like I hope I'll post pics etc ... if it don't... /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

unfortunately I barely even felt a bump, noticed it when I went to back up,couldn't turn thewheel to the left.the beaver stump was just barely tall enough to catch..But with only 10" of clearance it doesn't take much.Espacially in the brush...Just goes to show no matter how much you pay attention you can always miss something.

I wonder how they would like an m80 down their whole???these are the type that burrow in the bank.I mean they aggrivate me with thier stumps so I figure it's only fare to aggrivate them back....at the very least....
I'm thinking about making a template out of something and having one made for my lil tc21d.I figure it would mount it from the front axel to the frame of the FEL...We'll see...
