Finally got a suspension seat for my 2538

Been toying with getting a suspension seat for a couple of years. Finally pulled the trigger on a Northern Tool unit for about $300. (Mahindra dealer wanted $750, and I'm not sure it was as good, certainly not better)

Took a fair amount of fabrication to get it installed, since none of the bolt patterns lined up, but it was well worth the effort. My kidneys, back, and butt all thanked me. :cool2:

I am amazed a company will build a decent machine and sell it for the price of todays are and not realize for a few hundred dollars more have the operator comfortable and in doing so happy and alert and enjoying the machine. Congratulations. Have issue with new Kubota with its seat and Kubota does not care.

when my grandfather passed away 10.5 years ago, his old ferguson TEA20 was the first thing we sold (same seat LOL). i drove it a little bit when i was younger but we got a couple grand for it at the time.
the best one of the bunch he had was a old 1963 cockshutt 1650 2wd. i loved driving it, and miss it to this day and its been 3 years since mom sold the farm.....

I don't know about flat steel seats but I remember something like this

in my dad's shop was always pretty comfortable.
Still...nothing like a modern suspension seat for a really plush ride. It's true: we have come a long way.
Any updates duffer? Still enjoying the ride?

I kick myself in the rear every time I get on the tractor now, for not buying this 2 years ago. My land is pretty bumpy, even though it doesn't look like it, and since I mow it all regularly, the suspension seat is a godsend.
