I guess I am now part of the MF forum now.
Went an picked up my 1998 Massey Ferguson 231 yesterday from a 72 year old man in Louisville, Mississippi. (Very nice Christian feller). My uncle and I left at 4:00am and got back around 1:30pm. It was a total of 515 miles round trip, but boy was it worth it. The tractor has ABSOLUTELY NO LEAKS and just a very, very few minor scratches. EVERYTHING WORKS ON IT! He only used it to rake hay with it. He used his big New Holland to do the rest.
Come to find out, the tractor came from a MISSISSIPPI PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL PLAYER, but I am not sure which one.
It looks like a new tractor on the lot. No Ifs, ands, or buts about it. If I were going to buy a new 231 and saw this one. I would have chose this one. It looks just that new. Hands down. It has been WELL taken care of. It had 498 hrs on it when I got it. It now has 501 because I bush hogged a little with it yesterday. I got a he** of a deal, in my opinion.
It came with a canopy, and a set of remote hydraulics, all for $8,000. I am WELL satisfied with the purchase so far.
I even went and bought a brand new 5 1/2 ft King Kutter box blade day before yesterday. I gave exactly $450 out the door. Not a penny more.
Now, all I need is a set of disks and a finish mower!
I don't have any way to post pictures right now, but I sure wish I could. Well I gotta go wax it now!
