Finally picked up a set of forks for my tractor. 2000 pound HLA with 48 inch forks. Saved me a $200 lift gate delivery fee right off the bat (640 pound 20kw generator). Will be great for fertilizer pallets as well.

Debated going with 42 or 48 and whether to go with a lower lift capacity to save a couple of bucks. Decided on 48 for more capability/flexibility and figured this is a purchase that should last a long time and could be swapped to other tractors with a higher lift capacity that my CK3510. One thing I noticed in shopping is the vast array of cheap/thin forks that are out there.

Next up I need to find a large core aeration unit. Always something lol.

The one thing you have to be care full with is in use of the joystick . When you get a lot of weight out on front . the loader operates way to fast and hard to control . Did you notice any of that ?

I would agree it seems to operate a little faster (down) but not all the much faster then with a heavy bucket full of gravel or wet soil. I guess just something to get used to but not something overly bothersome.

Congrats on the forks. I couldn't make it without mine. I even got the extenders for a 60" reach.

I have used my forks almost as much as the bucket.

Great stuff. I am planning to purchase HLA quick attach pallet forks in the spring and I am trying to decide between 42" and 48". I was thinking 48" may be too long to getting around in the woods. Opinions from those with forks? Why would one ever need 60"?

Thanks for the feedback.

Curious about the 60 inch ones as well. In the Woods I don’t know that the extra 6 inches would make or break the usefulness of the forks with 42 vs 48. I just figured you can generally lift small things with big forks but not necessarily big things with forks that are too small.

Congrats... I just have a little BX but I now tackle hauling/moving things I used to leave up to delivery or never. Opened up all kinds of moving chores and has saved so much time and back aches.

You will be very happy with the 48" forks.
Pallet dimension is often 48".
I use my forks (48") at least as much as the bucket.

I use my pallets forks more than anything else. They are a great accessory. I went with 42" forks and I'm glad I did. They don't get in the way and I have found most pallets I work with aren't 48" and even if they are, I can still pick them up without issue as there is usually (always?) a cross member on the pallet center to help distribute the load. If I had a heavy farm tractor I would probably go with 48" but for sub 1000# work, I'm very happy with my 42s.

I use the 60" forks to get things off the front of my trailer. They are also very useful for very wide loads. It seems when you have them, you'll find a use for them. With them being add-on extensions, I have the best for more situations.
