Great feedback. Looking at used 8' Krone tiller. What depth can you till in average hardness soil? Does it chop up the soil to a pretty fine consistency if you make several passes?

my soil is a sandy clay mix i didnt disc or plow my field since last year i made 2 passes and it dug down to 6 inches i didnt adjust the shoes i could have raised em up and got deeper but no real need to the deeper you dig the dirt the lower you get your water table is the way i look at it say you run a bottom plow and it digs down a foot thats a foot of dirt thats gonna dry out. When i got done with my field there were no clods it looks like the dirt went through a sifter perfect for runnin your planter in. That dirt is cut just right you can push a hand planter through running.Im still trying to get my pictures on here i dunno whats goin on says i need permission

It looks like that tiller does a great job. i have been thinking about buying either a 5 or 6 footer for my 30 horse kubota, and using it to till my horse arena and redo my yard. my question is, how well do these tiller work in breaking up the existing sod if i redo my yard, and if i make multiple passes and drag it with a chain harrow, will it be good enough to reseed.

i would think from seein what my tiller in the field with a couple passes in your yard you shouldnt have any grass left at all and itll be ready to reseed
