Finally have tractor - thank you to all who responded to my pre-ownership queries

Hi All,

Having taken delivery of my first tractor, which arrived in good condition considering it had been transported from Holland to UK then UK to France, I just wanted to thank all of you who responded to my numerous pre-purchase queries, your responses helped a lot.

I now have 11 hours on the tractor (JD 2032R) flail mowing grasslands that hadn't been cut in 2 years and FEL work (Soil moving) and generally very pleased indeed, I think the size was ultimately the right choice for me.

I have a couple of hopefully minor issues, mainly for dealer but one I will post in another thread with a query.

Anyway, thanks again guys all your responses really helped in the decision making process for both Tractor and implement, ended up with a Flail mower, Tiller and landscape rake.

I've give you a tentative congratulations... However, I'm not sure that you really got a tractor - nothing happens on TBN without pictures!!! :thumbsup:

:laughing: Sorry Kenny G, only french 'girls' nearby are our 60 year old neighbour and her 82 year old mother, lovely ladies both but think they would both admit their 'pin up' days are over.

Congrat's on your purchase!! Hope you get many enjoyable and trouble free hours out of it! Just curious, why did you choose to go with a flail mower instead of a bush hog? Did Leonz convince you to get the flail LOL!!!

Cheers Kebo, went for flail over bush hog for a couple of reasons: Land had been untended for a long time and still a lot of blackberries to deal with, felt the flail could cut closer to ground and be better able to ultimately kill them, additionally wanted whatever was cut to be well 'munched' and evenly spread. No external influence on this at least from TBN.

Cheers Gus, It is a lovely location, only showed what we currently have at least partial control of in the piccies, the majority of the land is currently a wart (but a diamond in waiting - the tractor is going to help hugely) and out of picture.
