Hey everybody,

Well, I finally got me a tractor! It is a used 1997 MAHINDRA 485 DI with canopy. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I bought it with about 879 hours. Its got about 886 now! I only wish it would dry up here! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyway,

The tractor, and a 5ft. Bush Hog SQ600 Squealer rotary cutter for $7490.00 TOTAL PRICE.

Tractor: $6600.00

Bush Hog: $890.00

I want to say that I am VERY pleased with Mike Singleton with Singleton Sales & Service in Franklinton, Louisiana. He and his Mahindra dealership is the best tractor place I have ever been to. I WILL do business with them again. I am only 20 yrs. old and he treated me with the honesty and respect I was looking for.....They are very nice people to deal with.

I almost bought a Yanmar YM2620 tractor from Stan Hoye with Hoye Tractor in Texas. He was a very honest and nice person to deal with too. If I wanted a Yanmar, that is exactly where I would buy it from. No questions asked. He put up with a lot of phone calls and "tractor talk" with me. And yes, I think Yanmar is an excellent tractor. But I came across the Mahindra for a little more money and got a bigger tractor. But I love all tractors anyhow.

Would anyone like to tell me anything they know about maintenance or any information on my new tractor and Bush Hog? I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Travis

P.S..........I would like to send a special thanks to everyone in the Yanmar and Chinese tractor forums. Ya'll took a lot of time and answered my questions and posts. THANKS A LOT! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Travis, congrats on the tractor.

I agree that Mike is a good guy. I got to know him recently on a trip to India to see the Mahindra factory. He's a young fella himself, but he has years of experience with Mahindras and is a heck of a nice guy. Tell him hello from Dave when you see him next.

Travis I also purchased a Mahindra from Mike Singleton at Singleton Tractor Sales. These people are the most straight forward people I know when it came to my buying my 2810 new. I have since purchased a New 3375 bh sub frame, Wallenstien chipper BX40, box blade. and some bh parts. They actually shipped my chipper to me direct from another dealer in Ga. It arrived at my place before I could even send them my check for it. I only have a 100 hours on the 2810 and it has been great. Good luck and have fun.

Hey ya'll,

Man, I really love that Mahindra! The hour meter now has 890.2 hours on it. Mainly from cutting cottonwood trees and low grass.

The grass isn't too tall here yet. Even if it was tall enough to cut, its still too wet to do anything.

That Bush Hog Squealer is a tough cutter.....Have cut cottonwood trees (a soft type of tree) up to 4 inches in diameter and have not sheared one pin. (I cut them very slowly).

I am happy with my purchase and with Singleton Sales & Service. I now need a set of discs, box blade, and a boom pole! ..........Oh and DRY GROUND!! That Mahindra is a heavy machine!!

I would like to post some pictures, but don't have a camera for the computer, or the know how of doing it.

Thanks for everyone's support on Tractor By Net for helping me decide on a tractor. I really appreciate it dearly.

Travis
