I finally got a chance to use my snowblower, we got 6" of snow Sunday. I have never posted a picture before so I hope this works.

I'm jealous! We had snow on Thanksgiving, my blower was buried behind other implements so I used a blade, what a pain! So then I hooked up the blower that weekend and the weather warmed up. Saturday I took the blower off, installed a PHD and planted a half dozen spruce trees (3' to 6') and now the weather turned again. So we have light flurries with some possible lake effect snow (up to 6" in some areas) and still have the PHD on the tractor /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

One nice thing about the litte TC24 is that it has enough power to run a good size blower!

Good to see Kalkaska's got some snow, not much but at least more than down here. Hope the lake effect is finally starting to kick. Nice setup you have. Just curious, do you run the blower at 540 rpms and if so, how far will it throw a several-inch snowfall?

Duane, Sunday was the first time I used the blower, the tractor only has 8 hours on so I'm in a bigtime learning curve right now. With little or no snow base and the wear pads set with about a inch and a half of clearance I still through my share of lime stone. I made a pretty good sized mound of snow on a cement pad in front of our garage, "what can I say I was board" and made a run through it at a pretty good clip. If I had to guess it probably threw the snow 30 to 40 ft. And yes that was runnig at 540rpm. My dealer told me that last year New Holland changed manufacturers of their snow blowers. Same company that makes them for Kubota. So far it seems to meet my expectations. I can't wait until we get two or three feet on the ground. After making a couple runs down our driveway I can now see why everyone up there has a heated cab.... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif One time going in to the wind was all it took.. I'll never do that again.

That's a nice setup you've got.

I know what you mean about the cabs. I was out clearing snow halfway through our first storm, and I definitely could understand why the folks up north get a cab. We don't have enough bitter cold to justify it where I am. But if you're in lake effect country, it sounds like you've got some justification to add a nice cab at some point. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Better start working on your wife. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There is a soft cab available. It has a hard top and I think I recall it having a solid windshield with the remainder being a soft sided cab. I think Inspector 507 posted pictures about a year ago?
