I finally had enough. Ever since I got my machine back on 2001, I've been dealing with flats on the pneumatic caster tires on the mower deck, snow plow and brush cutter.

I changed the brush cutter tires to solid tires about 2 years into it. So that was no longer a problem, and left me two spare pneumatics. The seal on the pneumatics just doesn't seem to hold past 1 or 2 mowing sessions. I'd resorted to just swapping the solid casters onto the mower deck and plow for the season, and just "borrowing" them back for the brush hog 2-3 times a season.

Well, I lost a wheel bearing on one of the solids, and finally figured it was time to tube the pneumatics. So I bought two tubes and put them in today and mowed the lawn. I'll probably get two more and tube the ones for the plow sometime before winter, and pick up a couple new solids when I get the chance.

I also had tire leaks but it was the actual tractor tires. Eventually tubed all 4. I think my mower tires got Slimed...seemed to fix them for me. Tried Slime in 2 of the main tires and the tire shop guy wasn't happy to see that when he went to tube them :(

yep I have slimed all my tubeless tires and finally replaced my old wheel barrow with a two wheel one with flat free tires on it.

That is some perseverance on your part.

My ground is so uneven and hilly that i had a tendency to push the the tires off the hubs and the thorns would puncture the tubes and i was also tearing the valve stems off. I took your advice and got square profile solid tires and that really made a big difference. Also bought a tire mounting cone thats used to mount the solid tires onto the hub.

I tubed all the front attachment tires. Great move and no problems since then.

Yes sir, sometimes you just need to bite-the-bullet and rid yourself of petty annoyances. Life is so much sweeter.
