Finding a 45 loader for my X585

I recently acquired a Deere X585 after using a Cadet LT1050 with a Johnny Bucket JR. Was looking for a tractor with 4WD for a long time. The X585 is an older 2002 model and is not that pristine but I guess it is ok for $3,650. Although I have been considering getting a new 1023E with loader for $12K from a dealer in another city but then I have to add freight which is like $1K and $800 in sales tax. I have to change the front lights as they are broken and piece of plastic here and there. The main thing is that the hour meter and the gas gauge is not working. I just ordered a new instrument panel just in case that solves the problem. Also sometimes the tractor will shut down when in idle.

Now what I want is to get a loader. I contacted my local Deere dealer and I was informed that Deere does not make the 45 loader any more and they need to locate another dealer that have it in box unassembled. It has been two days and no news yet. So my question is whether someone knows where I could find one. I don't really want to go back to a Johnny Bucket SR as it is around $2K and I might just spend more and get a real loader. I might consider the CTC if I can not find the 45 loader but for the cost difference I would rather get the 45 if at all possible.

Next week I will take the tractor to the dealer for a complete check up just in case. There might be things to be done as preventive maintenance and I have no experience with tractors. My experience is in electronics.

Hope you can find that loader. Try eBay and CL.

Also, for good help with tracking down problems, look for a service manual for the X585. They also are referred to as the tech manual and go well troubleshooting along with the operators manual.

Hi beenthere. I just ordered the tech manual and should be there in a few days. I have not been able to locate the owners manual but figured that it might not be as important. But if I can find it I would buy it.

Thanks for the link. Since it is page by page it would be a pita to print. I used the part number of the manual and found a copy on Ebay. It happens to be the same seller where I bought the Technical manual but did not find the operator manual because I was searching for Deere X585 and he did not put Deere in the tittle of the listing. I just purchased it and hopefully it should be here soon. Thanks for all the help.

On another note my dealer said that they located a loader in the network and are starting to secure it for me. Hopefully all goes well.

Good news! My dealer located a 45 loader from another dealer new in the box and is going to be $2,850 installed plus an extra $300 for freight from the other dealer. I think it is a good price considering the cost of a CTC version for $3,200 or even a Buford loader or a Johnny bucket which with shipping is going to be almost $2K.

On another note I have been changing the filters and fluids in the X585. Also changed the panel which solved the dead hr meter and fuel gauge. The only thing that I don't like is that the meter now reads 0.2 hours. I would rather have the original number there. As with any new toy have been ordering new head lamps, tail lights, tool box, etc. Does any one know what is the part number of the 2WD/4WD shifter knob? I have not received the owners manuals yet and maybe the part number is there so I can order it.

Now I have been looking at the parts diagram and I can not find the little knob/level that engages the mower deck that is next tot he cruise control knob. I found the cruise control knob and the parking knob but have searching and can not find the knob that engages the mower deck.
