Finding a Source For Equipment Electrical Switches.

Digikey is kind of hobbled these days due to the Covid Boogeyman. So I can't talk to a technician about their product lines.

I am looking for switches:

High Quality

IP Rating

Miniature

Flat, rocker switch operation. No bat handles.

Must mount in a round hole, clip in, with no access required to the rear.

LED illumination, either integral with the circuit being switched or not.

SPST (Is all I require) Often switches a relay anyway.

A series that has matching LED indicators only, would be nice.

When I want odd little switches I hit eBay. So far I've found what I've wanted.

I have bought a lot of stuff from CHINA off E-Bay. But it's a real crap shoot for quality and truth in advertising. Bought "LED" undocumented switches, and couldn't figure out the pins, only to discover they were incandescent.

I really like that Dorman switch. No price is listed. I have a lot of similar chinese switches and could not find appropriate push on connectors and then when I did, did not find them up to the task of handling the current the switch could handle, so soldered on the wires at which time the thermoplastic melted and turned the switches to garbage.

I also really like Cole Hersey Centura (sp?) switches but who can make a perfect rectangular holes, especially blind, and often you don't have the room for these switches.

Digi key and Mouser are my 2 go-tos. Not sure why Digi Key is having problems with support as that is all over the phone in any case??

They are audio-oriented, but have a good assortment of switches, etc.

That is a most, ah, colorfull wiring job. lol

Digikey techs, I guess are not reporting to the facility and I guess they have not made arrangements for voice traffic, only typed chat. Too arduous for talking about all kinds of options.

WONDERFUL company, Digikey. How the world would be different if there were more like it.
