First time post -

I am buying a BX1850 to take care of my 1.25 acres, literally ordering today. I'm getting the hydralic controls on it for future front loader and the 54" deck.

Here is the Q:

The price delta between the fine cut 54" and regular is $100. Does the fine cut perform better than the regular? Keep in mind I have a fine looking little piece of pasture that I like to manicure.

Thanks in advance for your feedback, can't wait to get this thing home soon.

Sounds like the fine cut...or Deep Deck, is angled towards mulching if you need to. If you actually have nice lawn grass, I'd spend the money. If you are just mowing weeds them maybe not. But $100 isn't going to make much diference cost wise anywho.

Good Luck and Welcome to TBN.

Done deal - Ordered, will know when it gets delivered by tomorrow.

BX1850 - $7900
54" fine cut - $1600

The BX1850 doesn't come with Cruise Control? They are throwing it in for free... Not sure if I will even need it or not???

Mine has cruise control. Don't use it. Would be nice if I was mowing an open field, though. But even driving down the road, I don't use it. If it's free, what the heck. But I wouldn't pay for it.

No FEL? That's one of those things that once you have it you have NO IDEA how you lived without. Just did a complete job that involved moving 12 yards of material that took a total of ~3 hours. 50 yards of single shreaded to mulch the flower beds? 6 hours. If you do outside work, I would strongly consider the FEL. And remember you can't get a BH without an FEL.

How much is the front end loader?

I just got through faxing the finance paperwork on a 2350. The loader for IT is just under two grand.. now that's the 243.. the smaller loader is probably a couple of hundred dollars cheaper.

PS.. I don't think you can add a BH to these tractors. The BX 23 is the only one that has it.. and it's a package.

Oops...didn't pay attention the 1850 thing when I wrote the BH remark. Yes, you can add a Woods BH to the 2350, but I'm not sure you could do the same on the 1850. You may find someone that WOULD, but that doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Just don't pay any attention to me.

Heard from them today - should be in on the 25th. Dang that's a long time to wait.... Still debating just going ahead and getting the FEL now.....

Don't forget the possible expense of counter-weighting for your loader. You'll likely need a ballast setup as the wheels aren't large enough to hold ample fluid weight.

Roger that, thanks for the heads up...I'm already starting to question whether I should have purchased the 2350....
